Froyennes Retail Park is being developed by Equilis and designed by ART & BUILD Architect. Located at the north-western entrance to the City of Tournai, Belgium, the project has recently received the go ahead from the authorities. Because of its prominent location, the project is meant to become the new landmark signal for the entrance to the city and a catalyzer for the whole aging retail park zone with other projects expected to follow the path in upgrading the urban fabric. In order to achieve a successful urban renewal, the Froyennes Retail Park goes in par with a landscaping development in the area which is itself related to the promenade along the Escaut River located not far away. The low-carbon imprint of the 2-level project is optimized by the fact that roof has been designed to harmoniously accommodate both parking spaces and a series of photo-voltaic cells. The delivery of the 9,000-sqm project is scheduled for Autumn 2016.
